Fall 2012–Spring 2013: Isaiah

Led by Dr. John N. Oswalt, an American scholar and distinguished professor of Old Testament at Asbury Theological Seminary.
SUMMARY: In a time of spiritual and political turmoil, the Prophet Isaiah spoke Yahweh’s message to his people in Judah. Surrounded by pagan enemies and facing unfaithfulness in their own nation, what could the faithful of Judah expect from God? Would he remain true to them while also judging the unrighteousness of his “treasured nation”? Could these people really become God’s servants to share his message with the world? Many of the answers in Isaiah ring startlingly true in our culture today. Old Testament scholar John N. Oswalt illuminates God’s warning to his people and his plan for their ultimate redemption.
