Fall 2020: Covenant on the Ground (a Study of 1 & 2 Kings)

Led by Dr. John N. Oswalt, an American scholar and distinguished professor of Old Testament at Asbury Theological Seminary.
SUMMARY: In Joshua, Judges, and Samuel, we see the Covenant ideal served, lost, and recovered. But what then? Will the kings of Israel do what the covenant with Yahweh requires of them or not? If not, why? And what does that mean, both for them and for us? What are the obstacles to being faithful to God in the nitty-gritty of life? This study will often be inspiring, and when it isn’t, will always be challenging.
