When Christians think about Jesus saving us from our sins, we usually think about our personal sins, the sins we commit. However, the problem of sin is much deeper and more complex. We can live as slaves to sins we don’t commit as well—the physical, spiritual, mental, and emotional wounds that are inflicted on us by others. In the incarnation, the eternal Son of God came to save us from this twofold problem of sin through his divine nature and human nature, culminating in his resurrection and exaltation. Through the Holy Spirit, we can be united with Christ, the One who saves us from all our sins.
