Josh and Kelly Hallahan

Director of Discipleship & Conferencing and Director of Student Ministries

Josh and Kelly Hallahan began this full-time ministry in July 2021. The Hallahans are committed to developing authentic relationships with students and campus leaders at Asbury University and Asbury Seminary through intentional friendship and fellowship bands, wholistic discipleship/fitness classes and life-giving events in their home. Their ministry also will include speaking on campus, in the Wilmore community and in local churches.

Josh grew up in a United Methodist church, which the Lord used to disciple him and show him the true love of Jesus. He gave his life to Christ at a very young age and surrendered completely to the will of Jesus during his junior high years. Through the ministry of the church and Delanco Camp Meeting, the Lord called Josh into full-time ministry when he was in middle school. Josh struggled to accept a call into missions, but the Lord changed his heart and gave him a passion for reaching the world.

Kelly grew up attending a United Methodist church and Delanco Camp Meeting in New Jersey. She came to faith at a young age, was homeschooled, and then attended Asbury University (‘02). She has a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and taught at Heritage International School in Uganda for a year. That was the year “she fell out of love with teaching and in love with Uganda.” Kelly has always had a passion for missions and a heart to serve the Lord wherever He leads.

At the start of their marriage Josh served as youth pastor and Kelly served as daycare director at a United Methodist church in New Jersey for six years. Then God led them to World Gospel Mission to serve as missionaries in Uganda. They were involved in student ministries in various capacities for nine years in Uganda. They fell in love with their African brothers and sisters and the international community in Kampala. Josh especially loves walking with young adults in discipleship relationships. Kelly loves opening their home to anyone who needs a meal and a friend.

Josh and Kelly have been married since 2004 and have four children: Caleb (2006), Seth (2008), Elizabeth (2013), and Rebekah (2015) who are currently attending public school. They love to spend time as a family playing tag outside after dinner, taking hikes, reading books, and watching movies together. They are all so glad God has led them to Wilmore for this next chapter of ministry.
