SUMMARY:Hosea: God's Unchanging Love
DESCRIPTION:This Bible study was led by Dr. John N. Oswalt\, an American scholar and distinguished professor of Old Testament at Asbury Theological Seminary. \nSUMMARY: The northern kingdom of Israel was facing destruction. Under the inexorable pressure of the empire of Assyria\, one king after another was being bloodily replaced. The sins of the nation seemed to be multiplying. Defeat and exile were looming. What would God say to a people like that? He cannot ignore their sins and the consequences of those sins\, but he also wants to tell them that while his love will not prevent those consequences neither will it be deterred by them. What that means is that there is hope beyond the destruction. If\, in the midst of judgment\, they will turn back to him\, judgment need not be the end. As we in America look at what may be a grim future\, we too need to be assured that God’s love extends through and beyond whatever judgment our bad choices may bring upon us. \nFor a brief introduction of this series\, watch the following clip:\n \nThe workbook for this study can be downloaded (free) and recordings of each session can be purchased directly from our Bookstore:

SUMMARY:Holiness Collaborative 2023
DESCRIPTION:Holiness Collaborative 2023\nNovember 7—9\, 2023\nThe Language of Holiness\n \nThe Holiness Collaborative was launched to provide a setting for individuals passionate about the transformative work of the Holy Spirit to gather for a time of encouragement\, equipping\, and resourcing. We gather\, carrying in our hearts the contexts and lives we are blessed to minister to\, seeking the Lord’s help to faithfully continue serving and seeing His transformation take root. \nThis year’s Holiness Collaborative will look at “The Language of Holiness”. Through small group discussions\, teaching sessions\, and other collaborative approaches we will look at the power of our words as we share the powerful message of Holiness with those we serve. \nLeadership Team\n  Bill Kierce is the President of The Francis Asbury Society\, husband to Kim\, father to three grown children\, and grandfather to 8 grandkids. He is deeply convinced that we are incapable in our own strength to fulfill God’s call or to live a life that wholly pleases God. He recalls the experience of being filled with the Holy Spirit as “I was met that night with waves of God’s presence overwhelming me with the reality of His love and power. I have claimed that as my initial baptism with the Holy Spirit and entrance into entire sanctification.” \nJosh Hallahan is the Director of Discipleship at The Francis Asbury Society\, husband to Kelly\, and father to Caleb\, Seth\, Elizabeth\, and Rebekah. Josh firmly believes that discipleship ought to be at the heartbeat of all Christ followers\, and he counts it an absolute joy to walk alongside the men and women Jesus has entrusted him with. Josh loves gathering like-minded individuals together to collaborate and encourage one another to continue serving Jesus faithfully. \nDr. Matt O’Reilly is the lead pastor at Christ Church in Birmingham Alabama Husband to Naomi. Father to Patrick\, Vivian\, and Jackson. Dr. Matt O’Reilly is Lead Pastor at Christ Church Birmingham. He is a fellow of the Center for Pastor Theologians\, and Director of Research at Wesley Biblical Seminary where he leads the doctoral program and teaches New Testament\, preaching\, and pastoral ministry. \n  \nSchedule\nTuesday Nov. 7\n6 pm: Arrival and Dinner \n7 pm:  Session 1 with Bill Kierce \n8:30 pm: Prayer in Small Groups \nWednesday Nov. 8\n9 am: Coffee and Light Breakfast at FAS \n9:30 am: Worship and Collaborative Component \n10:30 am: Break \n11 am: Collaborative Component \n12:30 pm: Lunch \n1:30 pm: Session 2 with Dr. Matt O’Reilly \n3 pm: Prayer Groups \n6 pm: Dinner \n7 pm: Session 3 \nThursday Nov. 9\n9 am: Coffee and Light Breakfast at FAS \n9:30 am: Session 4 \n10:30 am: Break \n11 am: \n12:30 pm: Lunch \n1:30 pm: Panel/Large Group Discussion \n3 pm: Prayer Groups/Dismissal \n        7 pm: FREE Andrew Peterson Concert at Asbury University (Reserve your ticket HERE) \n  \n \nRegistration\nThe $50 registration fee covers all meals and sessions at The Francis Asbury Society \n(Scholarships available for full-time students at Asbury University and Asbury Theological Seminary.
